RECEPTION PLACES 2018 IMPORTANT INFORMATION
I’m sure that you are aware that Reception places have now been offered by the Local Authority on behalf of schools for September 2018. We, unusually, have just a few spaces as some of our current Nursery cohort weren’t able to start with us until last January, when they turned three years of age. This means that they are not old enough to start in Reception in September with the rest of the cohort
Given our strong reputation across the Black Country for our Early Years provision and the fact that we are usually over-subscribed in Reception, it may mean that some local parents don’t think it worth even trying to get their child in to Ryders Hayes
We would ideally like to offer these spaces to local children. Please spread the word, if you know of any families who would like a place. Do ask them to contact Jan Page in the School Office at the earliest opportunity to secure a place before they are offered more widely across the borough.
We are holding a Reception Open Day on Wednesday, 13th June at 6:30pm
Please follow the link below for more information on our next Train to Teach Drop-in sessions.
We are a “Get Reading. Keep Reading. Change Everything.” school.
We use the highly successful Read Write Inc. Phonics programme to teach our children to read, write and spell. Our children do well in the phonics screening check and by Year 2, the majority are fluent readers with the best chance of success in the KS1 tests.
Ruth Miskin Training recognise us for teaching the Read Write Inc. programmes with fidelity and passion – we know what it takes to make literacy pleasurable and rewarding for our children.
This badge recognises that we:
- Raise standards in reading and writing for our children
- Are all expertly trained by Ruth Miskin Training – including our headteacher Mrs Sally Miner
- Gain the latest programme updates through regular visits from our Ruth Miskin trainer
- Release our reading leaders to ensure our high standards are maintained.
